1. Bibliographic Note
Abdul Jabbar is a Pakistani contemporary artist recognized for his bold and expressive use of color in abstract and semi-abstract paintings. Starting his art journey later in life, Abdul Jabbar has developed a distinct visual language marked by dynamic compositions and vibrant palettes. His work spans abstract forms, expressive landscapes, and stylized depictions of boats, often rendered in monotone or sharp, emotive color schemes. He continues to gain recognition for his ability to infuse emotion and movement into still forms, blending spontaneity with control in a style that is both personal and evocative.
2. Artist Statement
“My paintings are a reflection of the emotions I carry and the energy I see in the world around me. I love exploring abstraction because it allows freedom—freedom to create, to feel, to emphasize what words cannot say. Whether I am painting a boat or a landscape, I let color guide the form and emotion. Sometimes I use a single color tone to isolate mood, and other times I explode with vibrant hues to capture movement and chaos. My goal is to communicate directly through color, texture, and rhythm.”
3. Artwork Review
In this recent painting by Abdul Jabbar, bold and spontaneous brushwork dominates the canvas, exploding with brilliant reds, greens, blues, and yellows. His use of texture and layered forms captures a surreal abstraction—perhaps a landscape, perhaps an emotion. The vertical and horizontal strokes intersect in a visual rhythm, with a mirroring effect suggesting both reflection and contrast. The work is alive with intensity yet grounded in intentional composition. Jabbar’s style leans into abstraction but never loses its grounding in lived experience and natural influence.
